En
nuestra primera sesión de la mañana, hemos tenido las palabras de bienvenida
por parte del Secretario saliente de CICLA P. Alejandro Quezada, CMF., y por el
nuevo Secretario de MICLA, P. José Fernando Tobón, CMF., dándole la palabra al
P. Miguel Ángel Velasco, CMF (Prefecto General de Apostolado), presentándonos
los objetivos del encuentro; la “Situación de la acción misionera de la
Congregación”, exhortándonos a ponernos
en actitud de discernimiento para descubrir entre todos y todas las líneas
orientadoras que puedan guiar el futuro de nuestra Congregación a nivel de
América y toda la Congregación.
Nos
informaba el P. Miguel Ángel, que este mismo encuentro se replicará en otros
continentes, con el objetivo de poner a los responsables de la coordinación
apostólica de cada zona continental, en situación de discernimiento sobre
nuestra misión en cada continente. Prosigue el P. Miguel Ángel manifestándonos
que: “en un momento en el que la Iglesia ha realizado el Sínodo para la nueva
evangelización una Congregación como la nuestra no puede dejar de responder
activamente a estas invitaciones a repensar nuestras opciones misioneras”.
En este grupo de trabajo hay claretianos de Brasil, España, Colombia, Perú, Indonesia, Argentina y Bolivia. También México, Chile, Honduras, Panamá,
Estados Unidos, El Salvador, Filipinas, Puerto Rico y Venezuela tienen sus representantes.
Las conclusiones de los Encuentros misioneros
continentales en este 2013, servirán para aportar las líneas guías en los
respectivos proyectos misioneros de cada organismo en América, y para ir
perfilando la Misión en la Congregación, que será el tema central de los Prefectos de Apostolado de la Congregación en el 2014.
Hemos terminado nuestra jornada de trabajo con
la oración de la tarde que fue facilitada por nuestros hermanos de la Provincia
de Perú-Bolivia, quienes nos invitaban a redescubrir la misión como “tiempo de
cosecha”, y no así, como “tiempo de
siembra”.

On the morning of Tuesday, January 15th, we celebrated the Eucharist at which Fr Javier Pulgarín,
CMF, (Provincial of the Province
of Colombia-Venezuela)
presided. Javier gave us a formal welcome and invited
all of us to build our spirit of Claretian fraternity.
At our first morning session the outgoing
secretary of CICLA, Fr. Alejandro
Quezada, CMF, and
the new secretary of MICLA, Fr. José Fernando
Tobon, CMF, also warmly welcomed
all of us to the encounter. Fr. Miguel Angel Velasco,
CMF, (General Prefect
of the Apostolate) then presented the
topic of our meeting, “The
reality of missionary activity of
the congregation,” urging us to put
ourselves in an attitude of discernment
to discover among all of the
possible lines of action that can guide the future of
our institute in the Americas and throughout the entire
congregation.
Miguel
Angel informed us that the same type of encounter will take place on the other
continents with the objective of inviting those responsible for coordinating
the apostolate on each continent to discern our mission in their respective
areas. Miguel Angel told us that, “at a time when the church has experienced the
Synod for the New Evangelization, a congregation such as ours can't help but
actively respond to the invitation to rethink our missionary options. Therefore
this process of rethinking our missionary priorities which began with the
workshop on “A Theology for Our Mission" that was held in September 2012
will continue in the continental encounters held throughout 2013.
The
conclusions of our missionary encounters in 2013 will contribute to the
guidelines of the respective missionary projects in each province, delegation,
or mission in the Americas and, at the same time, contribute to the shaping of
the mission of the whole congregation which will be the theme of the meeting of
the Prefects of the Apostolate in 2014.
We
finished our day with evening prayer which was led by our brothers from the
province of Peru-Bolivia who invited us to rediscover the mission as “A time of
harvest.”
